I haven't been. Yet.
I would like to see a tread started to hear from people who have been to WS and what we in Occupy Saratoga can learn from what is happening there.

Mark iv been following alot of livestreams from occupy locations and youtube vides, news articles. As of right now, they city is just filled with people that are apart of this movement. All kinds of diff groups being started. Some even responsible for wiring up car battery's and what ever they can find to charge computers, cell phones. ect.. Deff going commando. Saratoga will never grow that big if at all until spring i feel. One thing for sure, i dont think they plan on stopping. Here are some sites iv found. To learn about whats going on. www.occupystreams.org/ www.occupytogether.org/occupywallst.org/occupy.wall.fm/indexI think at this point, it should be about learning and putting thoughts together. Then come up with a way to spread they word on these topics here in saratoga.

To me the key is a STRONG FOUNDATION (or everything else will collapse). The foundation for the movement is PEOPLE. People EVERYWHERE. Albany, Saratoga, Oakland and everywhere in between. MANY PEOPLE gathered learning and putting there thoughts together LEADS TO ACTION. Albany met 3 times and then OCCUPIED! In Poughkeepsie NY, about 2 weeks ago, 30 people gathered AND THAT NIGHT OCCUPIED! They still are. A few people gathering in a library basement every 2 weeks can do a few good things but never really bring about the systematic change the movement strives for. It can and will happen in Saratoga. We've already created a presence with our meetings, boards and now website. Today's meeting in Saratoga was taped and should be on our site soon. All we need is ONE BIG MEETING with 100 people and there would be unstoppable momentum. I am starting to think we need this in a COMMUNITY CENTER or Church. We need to reach out into the community and show people we are for them (we are all in this together) and not just AGAINST something ie. the banks. This CAN be done in Saratoga or ANYWHERE, people are fed up all over. We just need the right location and commitment from all to work to promote the meeting. Someone suggested the Universalist Unitarians might have space and be interested in helping us. I know the UU's are a liberal bunch who are usually open to helping a worthy cause. I am not from Saratoga Springs so I'm not familiar with any of their community centers and such. By the way I think of our group as Occupy Saratoga (think Saratoga County) I think Occupy Saratoga Springs is to limiting.
Thanks for the links. I hadn't seen the streams before. Awesome to have all those streams. I am listening to Oakland now. Speak out at end meeting. Speaker now talking about integrating brown and black communities into Occupy Oakland talk about police abuses in Oakland. Calls for Oakland Police to stop the murders, stop the genecide moment of silence for those who have died at the hands of a racist cop Call for a general strike on Wed (a proposal was brought up in Albany today to support this strike)

I fully agree. Iv been checking on this forum, your site and others for information about meetings and whats going on in Albany and Saratoga. Yes we are all in this together. At this point in time with a movement like this growing i thinks its important to not only to bring up issues about how banks operate " The Greed" but also share information and thoughts about how the fabric's of our society works or operates."what are the efficiency issues" Such as-- personal and public transportation. Whats needed and how to go about getting it constructed and what is available as far technology to improve personal and public transportation. For an example..... Opening a new world to people i think would draw them in, even if there no impacted by whats been going on. In time we will all be effected by how we have chosen to live. That greed inside all of us. It is not sustainable, granted long term issues im bring up may not effect us or even your kids or there kids, but it will be comes a problem. Something to watch when you have time. I may be thinking to big, but everyone needs to start. Hey everyone. I attend the UU church and I need to talk to our Reverend this week actually. I will reach out to her. Our building is small though, but it is right across from that crazy Riggi mansion and really close to Skidmore. I'll see what I can do.

Thanks Mark

also if you could reach out to your pastor and see if she has any ideas about how we could reach out into the community that would be great.

Bryan, you bring up some good points. I agree with you. In the mean time we can support Occupy Albany by meeting as many of their needs as possible. Does anyone know if the folks at Occupy Albany have a way of heating up large pots of soup? I want to make a big pot of soup and bring it to them. Should I organize with them ahead of actually doing it? Otherwise they could get 5 pots of soup on one day and starve for the rest of the week.
I used to do a lot of camping. In my tent I always had one of those citranella candels in a glass burning. It kept a lot of bugs out of the tent, but it also kept the tent 5 to 10 degrees warmer than it was outside. It was always inviting to go into a warm tent. I want to bring a case of those candles in a glass to help keep them warmer. Does anyone have ideas about this? I heard the cops were doing searches of packages and limiting what people could bring there.

Doug if you go to their proboards they have a whole forum of stuff that they need. I was looking earlier today and someone set up a page on some site that allows people to coordinate food. Hope that helps.
