Thanks to all who participated! There were a few new faces today which is really exciting. It was awesome to see all the donations for OA, Maya, Bob and I brought them down to Albany after the meeting. Believe me they are greatly appreciated and needed! We had a presence in Albany as I know at least 3 other OS members who missed our events to attend Albany and I was told they spoke in our behalf at the GA (Maya, Bob and I missed the first part of the GA in ALbany). More on Albany later. I would love to see all who were in Albany today post there thoughts and impressions.
Maya volunteered to take notes today and post them so look for complete info on the meeting in future posts. We did come to consensus on 2 proposals in a short meeting. There was a request that our meetings be taped and uploaded to our web site. After a short discussion we reached consensus and Marge volunteered to tape today's meeting. Bill is very excited, look for it to be uploaded to our web site soon. Thanks Bill!
There was also a proposal, brought under new business, by AL to join in a protest against big banks by protesting in front of Bank of America next Saturday , in support of people closing out accounts at big banks banks. I believe it's 11-12. Under questioning Al stated that this would be a peaceful protest and that a permit had been obtained for the protest. Moveon.org and students from Skidmore will also be protesting. It was suggested that we have a Occupy Saratoga meeting immediately after the protest at Noon in front of Bank of America. Al considered this a "friendly amendment" and added it to his proposal. There was consensus to adopt AL's proposal.
Let's keep the momentum going. Invite people to next Saturday's protest and meeting and come if you can. PLease monitor and USE these boards. Join working groups, start new groups. Start new discussions post your questions, concerns, opinions and thoughts.
Let's build it big and strong together and watch what happens!
